I am trying to install OO v 2.3.1 on my computer box running:
Linux version 2.6.12-12mdk ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.0.1 (4.0.1-5mdk for Mandriva Linux release 2006.0)) #1 Fri Sep 9 17:26:56 CEST 2005
I have followed the instructions in the setup guide for RPM based installations:
1. Unpacked the downloaded image into a directory.
$ tar xvzf OO_Install/OOo_2.3.1_LinuxIntel_install_wJRE_en-US.tar.gz
3. executed:
for the standard installation in /opt.
This fails with the following message:
Failed dependencies:
libgnomevfs-2.so.0 is needed by openoffice.org-gnome-integration-2.3.1-9238.i586
libgconf-2.so.4 is needed by openoffice.org-gnome-integration-2.3.1-9238.i586
My questions are:
- are gnome libraries needed when I am running a KDE box?
- where should I go to I find the above libraries?
Note:
I have already OO 2.0 installed, in the /opt/openoffice.org2.0 folder.
Thanks for any help or advice, and
best regards to all

When ever i try install a build on my cpu the download never finishes so i cant install builds, its only worked once with simple build. Every other build stop when downloading. Is it my cpu, its pretty old, internet connection?help. I tried to use the updated version of Backup to transfer the Kodi folder from one machine (A) to the other (B) but it failed. I also tried to do the same using Windows Explorer but also failed. Let me explain the term dependencies with a practical example. If you install a TV guide plugin that is responsible for collecting Television listings from various online sources and carry forward them to display screen in a list form that is sorted by time.
